Is mobile gaming taking over?

Gaming on a smartphone

The short answer is No! it is not taking over but closing the gap very quickly. Mobile gaming has come a long way thanks to technological advancements and a huge market that makes it possible for developers to create amazing games for the platform. This is made possible as smartphones have become much more powerful and basically everyone has one unlike consoles and Gaming PC’s.

In March 23rd 2017, PUBG mobile was released as a mobile version to be popular battle royal; Players Unknown Battle Ground. It paved way for players all over the world to experience one of the worlds most popular battle royal on their smartphones.

Soon after more popular games got ported to the mobile platform including Fortnite, call of duty, Diablo, and more recently Apex legends. Due to the success of these games, more companies want to capitalize on the mobile market in one way or another. Either by selling hardware for mobile gaming, sponsoring tournaments and events for competitive mobile games like COD mobile and PUBG mobile, or porting their popular gaming franchise to the platform.

With more big titles like Warzone, Rainbow six siege, and The division coming to mobile and mobile hardware becoming more powerful and versatile it’s safe to say that mobile gaming has a bright future ahead of it. While it’s not quite there yet it’s getting there very quickly and we can’t wait to see it’s future.
